The UnGala: Boy of the Century Night
Tecumseh Boy of the Century
announced at the Music for Everyone UnGala 2.0
Saturday, November 7th
101 Rock Lititz Blvd, Lititz, PA 17543
This year the Tecumseh Boy of the Century will be announced at the UnGala 2.0, hosted by Music for Everyone at Rock Lititz. It is a Tecumseh announcement inside somebody else’s party, and that is rather the point — the evening is built for the kind of room where alums actually talk to each other.
The Historic Location: The event is being held near Lancaster, PA which has produced a singular number of past Tecumseh Boy recognitions. The award will be presented by Essam Abadir, who some alumni will recall from the famous inter-camp showdowns of 1986. Old rivalries become new connections and Abadir became friends with a family that had two different Tecumseh Boys out of three siblings!
The venue. Rock Lititz, 101 Rock Lititz Blvd, Lititz, Pennsylvania 17543 — a production campus in Lancaster County built for touring rehearsals, which makes for a considerably better room than a hotel ballroom.
The evening. UnGala 2.0 marks twenty years of Music for Everyone. The billing is vintage glamour: big band brass, vintage styling, and deliberately unconventional — a good night out rather than a formal gala. Dress accordingly, and expect the brass to be live.
Our host. Music for Everyone is a Lancaster, Pennsylvania nonprofit that supports music education, putting instruments and instruction into schools and communities across the county. If you have ever argued that camp and music do the same thing for a kid — give them somewhere to be good at something — you will be among friends.
Who should come. All alums, boys, parents and friends of Tecumseh are welcome. Come for the announcement, stay for the room.
To attend. Tickets, timings and the rest of the programme are handled by Music for Everyone at musicforeveryone.org.
